Walk into a Mundra SEZ warehouse in May and the heat hits you like a wall. Kutch is one of the hottest, driest, dustiest stretches in Gujarat, ambient temperatures cross 43-44°C through the summer, and inside a tin-roofed shed the size of three football fields the trapped air sits several degrees higher again. Add the fine, gritty dust that blows in off the arid Rann, and you have stock, machinery and people all baking under a roof that was built for storage, not for airflow. We have spent years on exactly these floors, and the lesson is always the same: in Kutch the right ventilation is never one product, it is the right mix for that specific heat, dust, fume and humidity load.

Mundra Port and the Adani SEZ, together with the Gandhidham-Anjar twin towns, form one giant logistics-and-manufacturing belt. It is a different animal from a textile or ceramic cluster. Here you have enormous high-bay warehouses, edible-oil refineries, copper and metals units, power plants, timber and plywood mills, and salt and chemical works, all spread across huge footprints in extreme arid heat. The common thread is scale: big open spans where ordinary wall and pedestal fans simply give up, which is exactly where large-airflow HVLS and high-capacity exhaust earn their keep.

Each industry here needs a different answer. A 50,000 sq.ft logistics warehouse wants gentle, whole-floor HVLS air movement that keeps pickers comfortable without disturbing stacked goods. An edible-oil refinery wants exhaust to clear process heat and oil-laden vapour. A copper or metal unit wants exhaust to pull furnace heat and fume out, with HVLS over the assembly and finishing bays. A timber and plywood mill in Gandhidham wants dust extraction plus cooling. A salt or chemical works wants FRP corrosion-proof exhaust that will not rust out in the salt-laden coastal air within a year.

We manufacture all of this at our own workshop in Satellite, Ahmedabad, and we supply and install all over India, including the full Mundra and Kutch belt, with a free on-site survey. We design the layout, supply, mount, wire and then stay on for service, not a dealer passing a brochure across the table. Wherever your unit is in Mundra or Gandhidham-Anjar, the first step is the same: an experienced engineer on your floor, an airflow calculation, and a written quote with no obligation.

Mundra Port & SEZ (Adani)

Private SEZ: logistics, metals, power, edible oil
1/2

India's largest private SEZ runs giant logistics warehouses, copper and metals units, power generation and edible-oil refineries packed across a huge port-led footprint. The warehouses bake under acres of tin roof in 43°C+ arid heat and need large-airflow HVLS to cool pickers and stock evenly, while the refineries and metal units need high-capacity exhaust to clear process heat, oil vapour and furnace fume. We size HVLS for the open spans and FRP exhaust where coastal salt air would rust ordinary steel.

Which Aruth product solves which Mundra / Kutch problem

The short answer for Kutch: HVLS fans to cool the huge open warehouses and assembly bays, industrial and FRP exhaust to physically pull out process heat, dust and fumes, and air coolers for spot relief at workstations and loading bays. Most units in the Mundra SEZ and Gandhidham-Anjar belt we fit end up with a combination, because the loads stack, an edible-oil refinery, for example, needs exhaust to clear oil vapour and process heat AND HVLS over the bottling and packing floor where people stand.

The deciding factor is what is actually in your air and how big your floor is. If the problem is hot, still air over a giant span, a Mundra SEZ logistics warehouse, a Gandhidham distribution shed, HVLS is the answer: one 7.3 m gearless fan moves a gentle 1-2 m/s breeze across up to about 20,000 sq.ft on under 1.7 kW, so even a 60,000 sq.ft warehouse needs only three or four fans instead of dozens of struggling wall fans. If the problem is something you need to get out of the building, refinery heat, copper-furnace fume, plywood-press heat, sawdust, you need exhaust. And in salt-laden coastal Kutch air or in chemical and salt works, that means FRP corrosion-proof exhaust fans that will not rust out in a season.

Giant warehouses & logistics sheds (Mundra SEZ, Gandhidham): HVLS fans, 2.4 m to 7.3 m, ~0.4-1.7 kW, up to 30% lower bills than banks of conventional fans.
Edible-oil refineries & food processing: industrial exhaust to clear process heat and oil-laden vapour, plus HVLS over bottling, packing and dispatch floors.
Copper, metals & engineering: high-capacity exhaust for furnace heat and welding fume, with HVLS over machining, assembly and finishing bays.
Salt works, chemicals & coastal salt-air units: FRP corrosion-proof exhaust fans up to ~44,000 CFM that survive what rusts mild steel in months.
Timber & plywood mills (Gandhidham-Anjar): exhaust and dust extraction for sawdust and press heat, with HVLS for comfort over the open floor.
Targeted relief for people (packing tables, loading bays, QC lines): industrial and portable air coolers and mist / man-cooler fans, suited to Kutch's dry heat.

Why Mundra & Kutch factories switch to gearless HVLS

The number that moves Kutch plant and warehouse owners is the power bill. Our HVLS fans run on IE5 gearless PMSM motors, so a single 7.3 m fan covers up to about 20,000 sq.ft on roughly 1.5-1.7 kW, replacing 15-20 conventional wall or pedestal fans that together draw far more and cool far less. Across our installs that works out to up to 30% lower fan-related power consumption, with typical payback inside 18-30 months depending on running hours. In a 24x7 logistics warehouse running long shifts, that payback comes even faster.

Gearless also means almost no maintenance, and that matters a lot in Kutch's gritty, dusty air, there is no gearbox to seize up or leak oil onto your stored goods. Add the 2-year warranty and the maths gets straightforward. We will run the actual numbers for your shed during the free survey: floor area, roof height, headcount and your current fan count and tariff, then show you the kW saved and the payback in months before you commit to anything.

Why Aruth, and how our free India-wide survey works

We are a manufacturer, not a dealer, based at GF-001 Mauryansh Elanza, Shyamal Cross Rd, Satellite, Ahmedabad 380015. That means short lead times, spares on the shelf, custom sizes fabricated in-house, and our own engineers handling the survey, installation and after-sales rather than a third party passing the job along. For a remote, large-format belt like Mundra and Kutch, that accountability matters: when something needs a service visit, you are dealing with the people who built and installed the fan.

Every job starts with a free on-site survey, and it is genuinely free and genuinely useful. An experienced Aruth engineer comes to your unit in the Mundra SEZ or the Gandhidham-Anjar GIDC, measures the floor area and roof height, checks your heat, dust, fume and humidity load and the openings you already have, then gives you a recommended layout and a written quote with honest sizing. We supply and install all over India, so distance from Ahmedabad is our problem to manage, not yours, we plan the survey, fabrication and installation around your shutdown or low-traffic window.

Case study: a Mundra SEZ logistics warehouse beating 45°C roof heat

  1. Before — the problem

A third-party logistics operator running a large warehouse inside the Mundra SEZ called us in peak summer. The shed was about 55,000 sq.ft with a high tin roof, and by afternoon the trapped air near the roof was pushing floor temperatures past 45°C. They had a couple of dozen wall and pedestal fans scattered around, noisy, gritty with the fine Kutch dust, and doing almost nothing for the pickers working the racking aisles in the middle of the floor. Productivity was dropping through the afternoon shift and they had started losing staff to the heat.

  2. What Aruth installed

We did a free on-site survey, measured a roof height of about 9 m and mapped where the hot air was stratifying near the roof. Our recommendation was three 7.3 m gearless HVLS fans laid out to overlap their air columns and wash the whole floor with a steady 1-2 m/s breeze at picker height, pulling the trapped hot layer down and evening out the temperature across the racking aisles. The three fans together draw well under what the old scattered fan bank had been consuming.

  3. The result

After installation the floor-level temperature dropped a felt 4-5°C, the destratification cleared the hot pocket at the roof, the dust kicked up by the old wall fans settled, and the afternoon shift held its pace. On their 24x7 running hours the operator is looking at payback inside roughly two years on fan power alone, before counting the steadier productivity and lower attrition. The three fans run on IE5 PMSM motors, are covered by our 2-year warranty, and are serviced by our own team.
