HVLS, Exhaust & Cooling, Dholera Special Investment Region

HVLS Fans & Industrial Ventilation for Dholera SIR: Semiconductor, ESDM, Solar & Heavy Industry

For factories coming up in the Dholera Special Investment Region, the right ventilation mix is HVLS fans for the big support and utility sheds, industrial and FRP exhaust for process and chemical areas, and air coolers for spot relief, and Aruth Ventilation manufactures all three in Ahmedabad, about two hours from site. As the Dholera SIR semiconductor, ESDM and solar plants build out on this arid coastal plain, the large support manufacturing sheds, warehouses and utility blocks around the Tata-PSMC fab need affordable, low-power cooling and proper extraction. We have completed 230+ installations, our gearless IE5 PMSM HVLS fans cut fan-running power by up to 30%, and every fan carries a 2-year warranty with a free on-site survey anywhere in Dholera. Dholera is unlike any other industrial address in Gujarat because almost everything here is being built from zero. The Dholera Special Investment Region, India's flagship greenfield smart-industrial city on the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, is anchoring the Tata-PSMC mega semiconductor fab and a cluster of solar and electronics manufacturing plants on a flat, arid coastal plain southwest of Ahmedabad. That means the ventilation problem here is not a retrofit on an old GIDC shed, it is getting the air handling right in brand-new buildings as they come up.

We have spent years on factory floors across Gujarat, and the pattern in a greenfield zone like Dholera is clear: the headline fab and the solar lines get sophisticated, sealed climate control inside the cleanrooms, but the buildings around them do not. The support manufacturing sheds, sub-assembly units, packaging and warehousing blocks, utility and pump houses, gas and chemical yards, workshops and canteens all sit in big, often tin-roofed structures under a hard coastal sun, and that is exactly where HVLS fans and industrial exhaust do their work.

This page lays out the right mix for a Dholera SIR unit, area by area: HVLS fans where you need to move huge volumes of air gently across a large support or warehouse shed, industrial and FRP corrosion-proof exhaust where heat, fumes or salty coastal air would otherwise build up or eat ordinary steel, and portable and industrial coolers where individual crews need a hot spot made bearable. We manufacture every one of these at our Ahmedabad workshop and install across the whole of Dholera SIR and the rest of India.

Aruth Ventilation has completed 230-plus installations; our HVLS fans run on IE5 gearless PMSM motors that cut fan-running power by up to 30%, our heavy-duty and FRP exhaust fans go up to around 44,000 CFM, and every fan carries a 2-year warranty. If you are setting up in Dholera SIR, a free site survey, which we run across all of India, is the fastest way to get a layout and a number that actually fits your building before the roof even goes on.

Dholera SIR is India's flagship greenfield smart-industrial city on the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, anchoring the Tata-PSMC mega semiconductor fab along with solar manufacturing, ESDM electronics and heavy industry. The fab cleanrooms run their own sealed climate control, but the support manufacturing sheds, sub-assembly and packaging units, warehouses, utility and pump houses, and gas and chemical yards around them are big tin-roofed buildings on a hot, arid, salty coastal plain, exactly the case for HVLS fans overhead, industrial and FRP corrosion-proof exhaust for process and coastal-air areas, and coolers at the hot stations. Because everything is new construction, we design the airflow into the building from the start rather than patching it later.

Why Dholera SIR factories need ventilation planned in from day one

Dholera factories need ventilation planned in from day one because this is greenfield construction on an exposed, arid coastal plain, get the air handling into the design now and you avoid the expensive retrofits we see everywhere else. The Dholera SIR sits on a flat coastal stretch southwest of Ahmedabad where summer temperatures climb well past 40°C, there is little natural tree cover or old building shade, and the sea air carries salt that slowly corrodes ordinary steel.

The semiconductor fab and solar lines themselves run sealed, highly controlled cleanroom environments, that is not what we do. What we cool and ventilate is everything around them: the support manufacturing and sub-assembly sheds, the packaging, kitting and warehousing blocks, the utility, pump and compressor houses, the gas and chemical handling yards, the maintenance workshops, and the canteens and admin areas where people actually spend their shifts. These are large-volume buildings, often with tin or metal-deck roofs that trap a hot air layer near the ceiling and push floor temperatures several degrees higher.

Because the buildings are new, you have a one-time chance most factory owners never get: design the airflow before the structure is finished. We can position HVLS fans, exhaust banks and fresh-air inlets into the layout while the shed is still on paper, so the cooling and extraction are right the first time instead of being bolted on after operators start complaining.

Greenfield site: airflow can be designed into the building, not retrofitted later.
Arid coastal heat: 40°C-plus summers with little natural shade on an open plain.
Salty coastal air: a real corrosion risk for ordinary mild-steel fans over time.
Large support and utility sheds: big tin-roofed volumes that trap heat near the roof.
Fab and solar cleanrooms run their own climate control; we handle everything around them.

HVLS fans for support, sub-assembly, warehouse and utility sheds

For Dholera's large support manufacturing, sub-assembly, warehousing and utility sheds, HVLS (High-Volume, Low-Speed) fans are the right tool because they move enormous volumes of air at a gentle, low-velocity breeze that cools the whole floor and the people on it without disturbing components, packaging or stored stock. A single large HVLS fan creates a slow column of air that spreads across the floor and circulates the entire shed, instead of the narrow blast you get from pedestal fans.

That matters in an electronics and semiconductor support environment specifically. In a sub-assembly, kitting or packaging area you do not want a hard draught lifting light components, films or packaging material, and you do not want dozens of pedestal fans cluttering a clean, organised floor. HVLS gives you an even 2-4°C effective cooling feel from air movement across the whole shed, gently and quietly.

We make five sizes, 2.4 m, 3.6 m, 4.9 m, 6.1 m and 7.3 m, drawing roughly 0.4 to 1.7 kW each on IE5 gearless PMSM motors. One 7.3 m fan covers up to around 20,000 sq.ft of open floor, so a large Dholera warehouse or support shed often needs only a handful of fans where it would have needed dozens of pedestal units. Fewer fans, far less power, a clear floor, and up to 30% lower fan-running bills, which adds up fast across a campus of new buildings.

Gentle, component-safe airflow, won't disturb light parts, films or packaging.
Covers up to ~20,000 sq.ft per 7.3 m fan; five sizes from 2.4 m to 7.3 m.
IE5 gearless PMSM motors draw only ~0.4-1.7 kW, up to 30% less than conventional fans.
Even, whole-shed cooling instead of a few breezy spots near pedestal fans.
Clears the floor and cuts the number of fans you maintain across the campus.

Industrial & FRP exhaust for process, utility and coastal-air areas

For Dholera's process bays, utility houses, gas and chemical yards and any area exposed to the salty coastal air, you need proper industrial exhaust, and FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic) exhaust where corrosion is a risk, because moving the hot, stale and fume-laden air out is what keeps a sealed-up new shed from turning into an oven. Exhaust does two jobs at once: it pulls out the heat that builds under the roof, and it clears fumes, solvent vapour or process heat away from the operator breathing zone.

FRP construction is the smart call wherever coastal salt air or chemical fumes are in play, around chemical and gas handling, plating or surface-treatment areas, and battery or cell-related solar process steps. FRP is corrosion-proof and shrugs off salty air and chemical vapour for years, while ordinary mild steel slowly rusts and fails. Getting this right from the start in Dholera avoids the classic mistake we see elsewhere, cheap MS exhaust installed over a corrosive area and ripped out within a year or two.

We size exhaust to the air-change rate each area actually needs, and our heavy-duty and FRP exhaust fans go up to around 44,000 CFM per unit, so even a large utility or process shed can be covered with a manageable bank of fans. We design inlet and outlet positions so fresh air enters where people work and hot, stale or fume-laden air is pulled out near the source, not just churned in one corner.

Industrial wall and roof exhaust to pull the trapped hot layer out of large sheds.
FRP (corrosion-proof) construction for coastal salt air and chemical/gas areas.
Clears process heat, solvent and chemical fumes from the operator breathing zone.
Up to ~44,000 CFM per fan; sized to each area's air-change requirement.
Inlets and outlets laid out to sweep air across the floor, not spin in place.

Coolers & mist fans for spot relief at hot stations

For specific hot spots in a Dholera unit, near compressors, boilers, loading and dispatch bays, maintenance workshops and outdoor work areas, industrial and portable air coolers and mist (man-cooler) fans give targeted relief where overhead airflow alone isn't enough. These are the finishing touch: you cool the whole shed with HVLS, clear the process and utility areas with exhaust, then drop in coolers and mist fans where individual crews are working hardest in the heat.

Mist man-cooler fans throw a fine spray that drops the felt temperature sharply right at the workstation, which suits Dholera's dry coastal heat well, especially at loading bays, dispatch yards and open maintenance areas. Because they are portable, you can roll them to wherever the crew is working that week, which is ideal on a busy new site where the hot spots keep moving as the campus fills out.

We are careful about where we recommend misting, in any enclosed area that needs to stay dry, we lean on HVLS and exhaust instead and keep the coolers for the open, dry-heat stations where added moisture is welcome.

Targeted cooling at compressors, loading bays, dispatch yards and workshops.
Mist fans for dry coastal-heat areas; keep enclosed dry areas on HVLS and exhaust.
Portable, move them to the hot spot of the day as the campus builds out.
Pair with HVLS and exhaust as spot relief, not as the main cooling system.

Why Aruth, and our free site survey across all of India

Choose Aruth for Dholera because we are a Gujarat manufacturer, not a reseller, sitting about two hours from site in Ahmedabad, which means short lead times, spares on the shelf, and our own engineers, not a third-party dealer, handling the survey, install and after-sales. Our workshop is at GF-001 Mauryansh Elanza, Shyamal Cross Rd, Satellite, Ahmedabad 380015, close enough to Dholera SIR to support a campus through its build-out and beyond.

Because Dholera is greenfield, the most useful thing we offer is early involvement. Bring us in while the sheds are still being designed and we will plan HVLS positions, exhaust banks and fresh-air inlets into the building, so the airflow is right from the first day of operation. We have completed 230-plus installations, our IE5 gearless HVLS fans cut fan power by up to 30%, our FRP and heavy-duty exhaust handles the coastal and chemical areas, and every fan carries a 2-year warranty.

The free site survey is the starting point, and we run it across all of India, not just Gujarat. For Dholera SIR specifically, a survey, on the existing structure or on your building drawings, gets you a proper layout, fan sizes and a quote that fits your floor and your power budget. Case study: a support manufacturing shed for a Dholera SIR electronics supplier

  1. Before — the problem

An ESDM electronics supplier setting up to serve the Dholera ecosystem came to us before their building was finished. They were putting up a roughly 22,000 sq.ft support manufacturing and sub-assembly shed plus an attached warehouse block on the SIR, both with metal-deck roofs, and they had budgeted for a wall of pedestal fans, the same mistake we see on almost every new site. Their worry was the coastal heat, the cost of running all those fans, and a clean assembly floor cluttered with stands and trailing cables.

  2. What Aruth installed

We ran a free site survey off their building drawings, which is exactly the advantage of getting involved early in a greenfield zone. We laid out the airflow on paper before the roof structure was closed in. Over the support and sub-assembly shed we positioned four 6.1 m HVLS fans, overlapping their air columns to cover the full floor evenly, and over the warehouse block two 7.3 m fans, since one 7.3 m fan covers up to around 20,000 sq.ft of open storage.

For the hot air trapping under the metal-deck roofs, we added a bank of industrial wall and roof exhaust sized to the shed's air-change requirement, with inlets positioned to bring fresh air in where operators stand. In the utility and compressor area, where the salty coastal air and process heat were a concern, we specified FRP corrosion-proof exhaust so it will not rust out the way mild steel would over the years. A couple of portable mist fans went to the dispatch and loading bay for spot relief in the dry outdoor heat.

  3. The result

The owner's headline wins: a clean, even-cooled assembly and warehouse floor with no pedestal-fan clutter, exhaust that pulls the roof heat out instead of letting it bake the shed, and corrosion-proof FRP where the coastal air would otherwise eat ordinary fans. With the IE5 PMSM HVLS fans cutting fan power by up to 30% versus the pedestal-fan plan, the lower running cost matters across a brand-new campus where every kilowatt counts, and everything is backed by our 2-year warranty.
