Hubli-Dharwad is North Karnataka's commercial and manufacturing hub, and the ventilation problem here changes from shed to shed. Walk into a steel fabrication unit at Tarihal in April and the issue is radiant heat off the cutting and welding stations plus weld fumes hanging under a high roof. Step into an FMCG or food-processing line nearby and the problem is different: steady comfort cooling over a large floor plus extraction of process heat and steam. We have spent years on factory floors exactly like these, and the lesson never changes. The right ventilation is never one product, it is the right product for that exact heat, fume, dust or load.
The climate here actually helps you, and it shapes our advice. Hubli-Dharwad sits on the dry side of North Karnataka, with hot, dry summers from March to May where daytime highs regularly cross 38 to 40 C but the air stays low in humidity. That is very different from coastal Mangaluru, where salty, humid air forces you into FRP corrosion-proof exhaust. In dry Hubli-Dharwad heat, evaporative air coolers actually work well as spot cooling at fixed workstations, because dry air can still take up moisture and drop a few degrees. But for a whole shed, the heavy lifting still comes from HVLS air movement plus exhaust extraction, not from coolers alone.
The industry mix here is wide and each one needs a different answer. Hubli-Dharwad runs steel fabrication, electrical machinery, cotton textiles, corrugated packaging, a growing FMCG cluster, electronics manufacturing and food processing. Fabrication and welding throw radiant heat and weld smoke that need HVLS destratification to pull warm air down off the roof plus industrial exhaust to clear the fumes. Textile and packaging floors take HVLS for steady, lint-free comfort, while FMCG and food lines need exhaust to evacuate process heat and steam. The hot dry summer then drives genuine cooler demand for targeted relief on the floor.
This page is for Hubli-Dharwad specifically. Below we cover the main industrial estates in and around the twin cities, why each needs ventilation, and which Aruth system fits. We are based in Ahmedabad, but we supply and install all over India, including across Karnataka, with our own team handling the work. Wherever you are in Hubli-Dharwad, the first step is the same: a free on-site survey, an airflow calculation and a written quote, with no obligation.

Tarihal KIADB Industrial Area
KIADB estate: auto components, furniture, food processing, fabricationThe main established industrial estate of the twin cities, with auto components, furniture, food-processing and steel-fabrication units spread across the KIADB plots. Fabrication and welding bays trap radiant heat and weld smoke under high roofs, so most units here run 6.1 m or 7.3 m HVLS fans to destratify and push that hot air down off the roof, together with industrial exhaust to pull weld fumes out, while food-processing lines take exhaust for steam plus HVLS for floor comfort.
How to choose: HVLS vs exhaust vs coolers for a Hubli-Dharwad factory
The short answer for Hubli-Dharwad: HVLS fans for general comfort cooling over large open floors, exhaust fans to physically remove heat, weld fumes, dust or steam, and air coolers for targeted spot cooling at workstations. Most plants we fit in the twin cities end up with a combination, because the loads stack. A Tarihal steel fabrication shed, for example, needs HVLS to destratify the hot air trapped at the roof AND industrial exhaust to clear the weld smoke off the floor.
One point in Hubli-Dharwad's favour: because the summers here are hot and dry, not coastal-humid like Mangaluru, evaporative air coolers genuinely work as spot cooling at fixed workstations. Dry air can still absorb moisture, so a cooler can drop the air a few degrees over a welder, a packing station or a QC bench. We still lead with HVLS plus exhaust for the whole shed, because moving air across people and pulling heat and fumes out of the building does the real work, but in dry North Karnataka the cooler earns its place where you need targeted relief. If the problem is hot, still air over a big shed, a Tarihal furniture or food unit, an EMC electronics hall, a cotton textile floor, HVLS is the answer: one 7.3 m gearless fan moves a gentle 1 to 2 m/s breeze across up to about 20,000 sq.ft and feels 3 to 5 C cooler. If the problem is something you need to physically get out of the building, weld smoke in a fabrication bay, process steam in a food line, you need exhaust.
Why Hubli-Dharwad factories switch to gearless HVLS
The number that moves Hubli-Dharwad plant owners is the power bill. Our HVLS fans run on IE5 gearless PMSM motors, so a single 7.3 m fan covers up to about 20,000 sq.ft and replaces 15 to 20 conventional wall or pedestal fans that together draw far more power and cool far less. Across our installs that works out to up to 30% lower fan-related power consumption, with typical payback inside 18 to 30 months depending on running hours. In the twin cities, where the dry summer keeps sheds in cooling mode for long hours, that payback often lands well within two years.
Gearless also means almost no maintenance, there is no gearbox to leak oil onto your stock or seize up in dusty fabrication and textile air. For a steel fabrication or cotton textile floor in Hubli-Dharwad, that matters: grinding dust and lint kill ordinary geared fans, while a sealed PMSM motor just keeps running. Add the 2-year warranty and the maths gets straightforward. We run the actual numbers for your shed during the free survey: floor area, roof height, headcount and your current fan count and tariff, then show you the kW saved and the payback in months before you commit to anything.
Ahmedabad manufacturer, full service in Hubli-Dharwad
We manufacture our own fans, which is the practical advantage for a Hubli-Dharwad plant: factory pricing, custom sizes fabricated in-house, short lead times, spares on the shelf, and our own engineers, not a third-party dealer, handling the survey, install and after-sales. Our workshop is at GF-001 Mauryansh Elanza, Shyamal Cross Rd, Satellite, Ahmedabad 380015, and we supply and install all over India, including across Karnataka, so a job in the twin cities is routine work for our team.
To be straight with you: we are based in Ahmedabad, not Hubli-Dharwad, and we serve the twin cities through our own travelling install team plus a free on-site survey, so you get manufacturer-direct pricing and service without a local middleman. We cover Tarihal KIADB, the new Electronics Manufacturing Cluster and units across Hubli, Dharwad and the surrounding belt. The free survey is genuinely free and genuinely useful: an experienced engineer on your floor, measuring your area, roof height and heat, fume or dust load, then giving you an honest layout and a written quote. Whether you are a single fabrication unit at Tarihal or a new electronics plant at the EMC, you deal with one team for survey, fabrication, installation and AMC.
From the field
Verified installCase study: a Tarihal steel fabrication unit clears weld heat and fumes
Before — the problem
A steel fabrication unit in the Tarihal KIADB Industrial Area, making structural and sheet-metal assemblies, called us with a problem we see across North Karnataka fabrication sheds. Their 22,000 sq.ft high-bay shed ran cutting, grinding and welding all day, and through the dry Hubli-Dharwad summer the heat off the roof combined with welding heat to make the floor punishing by mid-morning. A row of pedestal fans just pushed hot, smoky air around at head height while drawing a steady power load all day, and weld smoke hung under the roof with nowhere to go.
What Aruth installed
We did a free on-site survey, measured a roof height of about 8.5 m, and mapped where the weld smoke was collecting over the fabrication bays. Our recommendation was a combination: two 7.3 m HVLS fans over the open fabrication floor to destratify and pull the hot air down off the roof while creating a steady whole-floor breeze, plus three industrial wall exhaust fans, sized around 36,000 CFM total, on the weld-bay wall to physically pull the heat and welding smoke out. We also placed a couple of portable air coolers at the fixed welding stations, which work well in the dry local heat for targeted relief.
The result
After installation the floor ran noticeably cooler, the welding haze cleared off the roof line, and because the HVLS fans use IE5 gearless PMSM motors the unit replaced roughly 16 pedestal fans with far lower running cost. On their long summer running hours the owner is looking at payback inside roughly two years on fan power alone. The fans carry our 2-year warranty, and our own team handled survey, fabrication and installation end to end, travelling to Tarihal to complete the job.
